Report: Clippers are Jimmy Butler's preferred trade destination

By: Matt Birch | September 19, 2018 Jimmy Butler reportedly wants out of Minnesota, as he appears to prefer playing in a new environment over a max contract extension with the Timberwolves. If Butler were to remain in Minnesota, he’d be eligible to sign a five-year, $190 million deal next summer. However, if he’s traded to another team, he’d only be able to net $141 million over four years. Apparently, Butler favors the latter option, as a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday stated that he wants to be traded to either the Nets, Knicks or Clippers. And...

Watch: Padres fan steals ball from Giants outfielder to deny home run-saving catch

By: Matt Birch | September 19, 2018 It appeared as if Giants outfielder Chris Shaw was going to produce a highlight-reel play during Tuesday’s game against the Padres, and he probably would have, had a fan not intervened. The play in question took place in the fifth inning of the game, when Padres outfielder Franmil Reyes crushed a pitch to left field. It looked as if the ball was destined to land in the stands, but Shaw had other plans. He timed his jump perfectly, reached his glove out and it appeared as if he was going to make...

Watch: Josh Bell uses magician-like maneuver to evade tag

By: Matt Birch | September 19, 2018 Pirates star Josh Bell is quite shifty for a first baseman, and is quicker than most that play his position, which he showed during Tuesday’s game against the Royals. His opponents in the game learned that lesson when he crushed a ball to left field, and attempted to extend it into a double. The problem is that the throw beat him to the base, so it appeared that he would surely be tagged out. Bell, however, had other plans. He adjusted his slide away from the base, forcing Royals infielder Whit Merrifield...

Look: No one showed up to PNC Park for Royals-Pirates game

By: Matt Birch | September 17, 2018 The Pittsburgh Pirates are no longer in the playoff race, but the team did make it interesting, and clearly overachieved this season. Many analysts believed it would be a rebuilding year for the Pirates, who shipped off Andrew McCutchen, as well as Gerrit Cole, but it was anything but. The Pirates do currently sit in second-to-last place in the NL Central, but that’s just because of how competitive the division is. Pittsburgh has a 74-74 record, and continues to play their opponents first. But fans appear to have given up on the...

Insane stat shows how anemic Cardinals offense was vs Rams

By: Matt Birch | September 16, 2018 Only two weeks of the 2018 NFL season are in the books, but it’s become quite clear that the Bills and Cardinals are the two worst teams in the league. The Cardinals have been outscored 58-6 in their two losses, and it won’t be a surprise if the team elects to begin playing rookie quarterback Josh Rosen over veteran Sam Bradford, so it doesn’t look like the team’s outlook will be improving in the near future. Arizona was shut out by Los Angeles in Sunday’s game, which it lost, 34-0, and the...

Watch: Will Lutz consoles Browns kicker after game in classy gesture

By: Matt Birch | September 16, 2018 The Browns had lost 21 consecutive road games heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, but the team nearly pulled off a dramatic win. Cleveland led New Orleans throughout nearly the entirety of the game, up until a touchdown pass from Drew Brees to Michael Thomas gave the Saints an 18-12 lead with under three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. But the Browns kept fighting, and the team had a chance to regain the lead following an incredible 47-yard touchdown pass on fourth down from Tyrod Taylor...

Look: $92M man Jimmy Butler spotted driving soccermom minivan

By: Matt Birch | September 13, 2018 Timberwolves star Jimmy Butler doesn’t need to drive fancy whips to impress those around him, apparently. Butler, who will be entering the fourth year of a $92.3 million contract he signed, has made a good deal of money throughout his career. And while he’s been known to spend a good chunk of the offseason in Los Angeles, he clearly doesn’t feel the need to drive an extravagant vehicle around while there. He was spotted leaving famous Italian restaurant Il Pastaio, when he ran into TMZ Sports, and then hopped into a blacked-out...

Adrian Peterson fires back at Cris Carter over recent criticism

By: Matt Birch | September 13, 2018 Redskins running back Adrian Peterson spent the majority of his career in Minnesota, which makes it surprising that he’s been beefing with a former Vikings legend. Former Vikings receiver Cris Carter, who is now an analyst for FOX Sports and hosts “First Things First,” was recently critical of Peterson, likening the running back’s skill set to a baby’s diaper. Obviously, those comments didn’t go over well with Peterson, who responded on Tuesday’s edition of Pro Football Talk’s PM podcast. Peterson, who is known for having a strong handshake, began by saying what he...

This Le’Veon Bell infographic shows how great he was vs Ravens

The Sports Daily This Le’Veon Bell infographic shows how great he was vs Ravens Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is finally back in midseason form, so watch out AFC. Bell held out and returned to sign his franchise tender on Sept. 1, so being that Sunday’s game was played in Week 4, it’s like he effectively got his preseason reps out of the way, and now the regular season has begun for him. And it showed. Bell was the clear difference-maker in the 26-9 win over the Ravens, carrying the ball 35 (!) times for 144 yards, with two touchdowns...
