On this Father's Day Sunday in America the world of pro wrestling/sports entertainment had a week that most father's would likely cringe at for both TNA and WWE. Later today TNA offers up 'Slammiversary' and WWE finally exhaled with regards to The Authority vacating the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
On Monday night the prognosis for Daniel Bryan's health as he recovers from his recent neck surgery obviously took a turn for the worse with him not appearing on Raw as The Authority of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon stripped him of the WWE World titles. Now at the end of the month at 'Money In The Bank" the ladder match normally for the briefcase will be fore the vacated titles. More matches occurred on both Raw and Smackdown to have superstars qualify for a shot at the titles. Right now five man are entered: Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro and U.S. Champ Sheamus. Also on Raw we saw the "new" Seth Rollins as a member of Evolution plus an odd team up as John Cena tagged with The Shield to defeat all three members of the Wyatt Family.
Thursday night on Impact, TNA finalized there plans and card for 'Slammiversary' on Sunday night. As Eric Young was able to win two of the three matches he had with Kenny King, Bobby Lashley and MVP he was able to name a stipulation for his TNA World title match versus MVP. He made the match tonight a steel cage contest in the hopes of keeping out King and Lashley. Apparently though things have changed for the Main Event as MVP will no longer be in the match and the winners of the matches between Samoa Joe versus Bobby Lashley and Austin Aries versus Kenny King will be added to make it a triple threat for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. The TNA Knockout Champion Angelina Love found out who will be her challenger for the title on the pay-per-view as Gail Kim emerged from a triple threat versus Madison Rayne and Brittany to contend for the title.
We are unsure why there was a last minute change to the TNA World title match at 'Slammiversary' tonight, possibly an injury to MVP, or perhaps part of the ongoing storyline between MVP and TNA President Dixie Carter? When that information come to light we will share it with you of course.
