Well this past week in the world of professional wrestling/sports entertainment was full of change, with more possibly afoot tomorrow night on Raw. WWE will have a big decision to make based upon how the surgery went on Daniel Bryan's neck on Thursday. TNA moved to add depth to the side of MVP with him being part of a trio after this past week's Impact event.
It was reported by WWE.com that the surgery on the neck of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan went well and was successful at relieving the pressure that it was being performed to do. Now tomorrow night on Raw the question will be answered as to what will happen to the championship. Will WWE let Bryan keep them until he recovers, or strip him of the belts and determine a new champion? Kane attacked Bryan on last Monday night that exacerbated the injury as part of the storyline. The program between John Cena and Bray Wyatt continued with the announcement of a "Last Man Standing" match between the two at 'Payback' on June 1st.
In TNA, after last week's attack of TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young by head of wrestling operations MVP, Young wanted answers. Not only did MVP eventually come out to provide them, so did "King of the Night" Kenny King and also Bobby Lashley, whom the fans thought was to "save" Young, but he also beat down the champ. Now this new trio of African-American athletes will be the top dogs in the promotion so long as MVP has the power that he apparently craves. While TNA parted ways with Chris Sabin and Hernandez as we reported here, they introduced Bram, who is a "friend" to Magnus. His antics seem like he would have been a better fit for The Menagerie lead by Knux, but only time will tell how things play out.
WWE announced that both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown will stay on network television as part of a new multi-year deal with NBC Universal that was reported here by WrestleZone.com. Lastly, the news broke this week that real life couple CM Punk (Phil Brooks) and AJ Lee are now engaged with a June wedding being planned. So we here at WorldWrestling101 wish them our best in the future together.
