By Peter Schifani

In this first part of our preview of WWE's special event 'Extreme Rules' this Sunday May 4th on the WWE Network we look at the under card matches. In the second part on Saturday we will then preview the three upper card/ main event matches for this "pay-per-view."

Intercontinental Championship

Big E Langston (C) versus Wade "Bad News" Barrett (number one contender)

Peter Schifani:

After going through an eight man tournament to be crowned number one contender it certainly seems Barrett is poised to capture his fourth Intercontinental Championship. Hopefully he is just being used to "transition" the title to someone like Cesaro in the near future.

Mark Eddinger (Motorsports101):

Wade Barrett has been gaining momentum with his Bad News gimmick. He is on a roll in the ring and on the mic I've got some bad news for Big E and that is that there will be a new I/C Champion Sunday night.

Divas Championship

Paige (C) versus Tamina Snuka

Peter Schifani:

After her surprising win over AJ Lee the night after 'WrestleMania' Paige has been  on a little roll through the lower tier Divas on the roster, now she faces a second generation wrestler who can certainly take her out with her power and size. We don't expect it to happen here though, Paige will defend.

Mark Eddinger (Motorsports101):

Paige surprised the WWE Universe on Monday Night RAW the nigth after 'WrestleMania' XXX by winning the Divas Championship away from AJ Lee when most people didn't even know of her. I think her Divas matches over the past several weeks have been some of the better matches in a long time for the division. Paige will knock off Tamina here but a return of AJ could happen at 'Extreme Rules.'

Triple Threat Match

Rob Van Dam versus Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter versus Cesaro w/ Paul Heyman

Peter Schifani:

This match basically needs to be a "vehicle" for Heyman's new client to roll through his former partner Swagger and the recently returned RVD. Hopefully after this, while Cesaro's push continues, he will eventually get a shot at the Intercontinental title.

Mark Eddinger (Motorsports101):

Cesaro had gained so much momentum at 'WrestleMania' by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and then the next night jumping ship from the Real Americans to be a Paul Heyman guy. Heyman brings talent to the top so I expect the "King of Swing" to take the victory in the match.

Handicap Match

Alexander Rusev w/ Lana versus R-Truth and Xavier Woods

Peter Schifani:

Rusev crush…Lana looks "ravishing" and Truth and Woods take a loss in a double accolade as the finisher. Enough said.

Mark Eddinger (Motorsports101):

Alexander Rusev has crushed everyone in his way so far granted the competition has not been very strong. The handicap match stipulation will do nothing to slow his "Bulgarian Brute" strength and he will beat R-Truth and Xavier Woods.

Pre-show Match (first ever "WeeLC" Match)

El Torito versus Hornswoggle

Peter Schifani:

Tables, ladders and chairs…Oh My!…this match should provide some comic relief at the open of the show as midget action is rarely seem these days in pro wrestling. El Torito will win this over Hornswoggle with his more athletic maneuvers.

Mark Eddinger (Motorsports101):

Watching the two battle it out a few times has actually been sort of entertaining and adding the "WeeLC" stipulation will make this intriguing. Everyone love TLC matches so I assume even between El Torito and Hornswoggle it will be exciting. I'll pick El Torito, the bull, to win.

Well there you go, our thoughts on the lower card matches for 'Extreme Rules' on Sunday. On Saturday we will preview the top three matches of the night and give our thoughts on winners for them.
