The first big event of any year is always the WWE's 'Royal Rumble' that leads us down the road to 'WrestleMania' 30 in April in New Orleans. Here for part on of our preview we take a look at the under card matches, including a possible Divas title match (yet unannounced) and the Rumble match itself. Part two tomorrow will preview the upper card matches including the main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

'Royal Rumble' Match: Number one entrant: CM Punk, Batista, Alberto Del Rio, Rey Mysterio, Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and R-Truth, WWE Tag-Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Goldust, United States Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns (The Shield), Fandango, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan (Wyatt Family), Damien Sandow, Jimmy & Jey Uso, (Bad News Barrett) + nine more superstars.

Peter Schifani:

One of the most unpredictable matches in WWE because of having so many guys in the ring at any time with teams and groups trying to eliminate tougher, bigger competition all throughout. Batista will likely eliminate the most of his fellow WWE superstars. We still believe that there will be some surprise entrants such as Christian, Chris Jericho and even possibly Jake "The Snake" Roberts, but none of them will go on to win the match. That will be Daniel Bryan so that he can finally win the title at 'WrestleMania' in the ultimate "Yes!" reaction.

Mark Eddinger (Motorsports 101):

The Royal Rumble Match is always an entertaining affair but as it is, it is also difficult to predict who will win. Since the winner is guaranteed a main event 'WrestleMania' championship match it is easy to write off a number of the entrants. CM Punk is one of my favorites to win but since he is entering at number one I will go in a different direction. Of the 20 announced contenders the only other man that sticks out is Batista on his return to the company. Daniel Bryan is not announced as being a participant and it would create a huge YES! moment if he won no doubt. But I will go with The Rock to be a "surprise" entrant and win the Royal Rumble match sending him to 'WrestleMania' in a championship match.

Ryan White (76ers 101):

Dave Batista, nicknamed “The Animal” is a power wrestler and his brute strength is sure to propel him as a favorite to win the 'Royal Rumble.' After a three-year hiatus to pursue an unsuccessful movie career, he comes back to a more successful WWE arena just this past week. Before leaving the WWE, he was a six time World Heavyweight Champion, surely missed by fans and his past popularity makes him poised to be a favorite for this match.

As a surprise entrant, I am thinking the Undertaker. He usually only shows up when it gets close to 'WrestleMania,' where he has a 21-0 winning streak. Rob Van Dam may be a surprise too. He has been out a few months to refocus and take a break from the pressure of WWE’s stressful lifestyle. With no off-season and this being a 24-hour a day job, RVD took a minute to heal and regroup, but for the 'Royal Rumble' he may be back.

Divas Championship Match:

AJ Lee (C) w/Tamina Snuka vs Naomi w/Cameron (Funkadactyls)

Peter Schifani:

The run of AJ Lee as Divas Champion is now the longest in WWE history and we really can't see Naomi being the one to end this reign. The only way we could see her reign ending may be a face turn by Tamina just before 'WrestleMania' and the daughter of the "Superfly" winning her first Divas Championship at the grand daddy of them all.

Mark Eddinger (Motorsports 101):

AJ Lee has been in control of the Divas division for a long time now and was beat in the ring on Monday Night Raw this past week by Naomi's roll up. Is that the sign of a switch in power or just setting up a reason for there to be a Divas Championship match? I think it's the latter and AJ will be able to retain on Sunday with a little help from Tamina in her corner.

Ryan White (76ers 101):

AJ Lee has had the Divas Championship for a few months shy of a year and no one has been able to defeat her. Now here comes Naomi to knock her off the throne. She is regarded as the best female athlete in the WWE. For this match-up, I see AJ pulling it off though, because she always finds a way to escape and win, by usually getting disqualified to keep her title. She will probably get a little help from Tamina, who is probably one of the most physical female wrestlers and serves as AJ’s muscle. Also, when AJ slaps on the black widow, no one has escaped and her opponents usually tap out.

Kick-off Match: WWE Tag-Team Championship

Cody Rhodes and Goldust (The Brotherhood) (C) versus "Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Bill Gunn (New Age Outlaws)

Peter Schifani:

Well if certain 'WrestleMania' predictions hold, Goldust wants to battle his brother Cody Rhodes at the big event, so "The Brotherhood" has to drop the titles sometime before then. We could see that happening here, making the New Age Outlaws the SIX-time Tag Team Champions of the World!!!, but the NAO would then drop the titles on Monday Night Raw to either the Real Americans or The Usos.

Mark Eddinger (Motorsports 101):

I am never a big fan of bringing back old wrestlers and having them compete in the ring. The fact that the New Age Outlaws have earned a Tag-Team title match so quickly is not the way I would have liked the story to go in the tag-team division. Give me more of the "We The People" (Real Americans) scene or The Usos, not the New Age Outlaws. This match will not end with a new pair of champions, Cody and Goldust will retain.

Ryan White (76ers 101):

This is going a good one, the brother tag-team of Cody Rhodes and Goldust versus "Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn. The New Age Outlaws are five times “tag team champions of the world”. They are older and a very successful tag-team from the 90’s who disappeared from the WWE scene. Now they’re back bringing into the present their unique forms of entertainment and fun entrance intro, “Oh you didn’t know…your ass better call somebody…” Old fans will be nostalgic and there will be a few new converts too. So I am going to pick them for the nostalgia of who they were and who they still are.

Well that is it for part one of our preview of the 2014 'Royal Rumble' and part two will showcase the bigger matches on the card tomorrow. We here at WorldWrestling101 would like to thank Mark Eddinger and Ryan White for joining us in our pay-per-view previews from the SportMedia101 network.
