If you have been following our count up from number 10 to number two of the top 10 World Heavyweight Champions in WWE then you have probably figured out by process of elimination who are number one is on our collaborative list. The man known as "The Game" Triple H was the first holder of the re-instated title and held it the most days of all of the champions since it's re-inception in 2002.

Number One: Triple H

Is our number one World Heavyweight Champion is WWE due in part to his five title reigns. He became the first champion after being awarded the title by them Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff on September 2, 2002, which was due to the "brand split" with Smackdown having the WWE Champion. Triple H won the title back from Shawn Michaels at 'Armageddon' on December 15, 2002 in three stages of hell match. He would win it one more time the following year at 'Armageddon' again, this time defeating Goldberg (defending champ) and Kane in a triple-threat match. His fourth reign began by defeating Randy Orton for the championship at 'Unforgiven' on September 12, 2004. His last reign was a victory in an 'Elimination Chamber' match versus Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Edge, Randy Orton and Batista at 'New Year's Revolution' on January 9, 2005. His five reigns as World Heavyweight Champion combined for a total of 616 days.
