As we close in on the end of 2013 with Christmas this Wednesday we see how the world of sports entertainment/professional wrestling shapes up going into 2014. WWE is now going to sharpen there focus towards 'Royal Rumble' which leads to 'WrestleMania.' TNA has a new World Champion in Magnus and may see him feud with a "returning" AJ Styles as they start the New Year.

This past Sunday WWE re-wrote there history after unifying there WWE Championship with the World Heavyweight Championship at 'TLC.' As the WWE Universe know and many fans remember it was not the first time the two titles were united into one, as Chris Jericho did that in one night at 'Vengeance' in 2001. Since the brand split between Raw and Smackdown ended sometime in 2011 this was something the WWE needed to do to appease its fan base as 2013 came to a close. Randy Orton beat John Cena to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion after sending Cena crashing into a table in the corner off the ladder, and then ascending himself to retrieve the two title belts. Orton was put into a match with Daniel Bryan Monday Night on Raw that was a solid performance by both superstars until Orton ended it with a low-blow on Bryan. Now WWE can begin to focus on setting up the 'Royal Rumble' in January to find out who will challenge Orton, if he remains champion, at 'WrestleMania' 30.

TNA wrestling presented 'Final Resolution' this past Thursday night and the finals of the tournament to determine a new World Heavyweight Champion themselves. Magnus came away victorious over Jeff Hardy. Also the results of the "Feast or Fired" contracts were revealed. While Gunner received the biggest prize, a future World title shot, Ethan Carter III received a World Tag-Team title opportunity and Zema Ion got the X-Division Championship shot. Unfortunately that meant that Chavo Guerrero, the holder of the fourth case, was the one given the "pink slip" by TNA.

That's the highlights of the past week in pro wrestling/sports entertainment. Things are hopefully setting up well for fans to enjoy the storylines, title changes and great matches to come in 2014.
