Well if you don't want to find out who the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion is then you are forewarned not to read any further. Now for all of those who are still with us, at the Impact tapings on Tuesday Magnus became the new TNA World Champion. He defeated Jeff Hardy in the tournament finals as reported by our colleagues at WrestleZone.

The eight man tournament to determine a new TNA World Heavyweight Champion has concluded with Magnus becoming the new champion. He defeated Jeff Hardy in the finals in what was called a "Dixieland" match were first both combatants had to fight it out to escape the cage around the ring. Then from there they had to climb a ladder on the stage to capture the gold. Magnus won with assistance by Dixie Carter herself, Ethan Carter III and Dixie's "assistant" Rockstar Spud. This is Magnus first major singles championship as he has won the TNA World Tag-Team Championships twice before, and the IWGP Tag-Team Championship once.

Magnus has slowly been making a turn to heel during the break up of the Main Event Mafia, and especially with his victory over Sting at 'Bound for Glory' in October. He is the hand-picked champion for Dixie Carter in TNA wrestling and since she has also made a heel turn in recent months with the handling of AJ Styles contract, then things are now set up for Magnus and AJ Styles to face-off at 'Genesis' in January. This title victory may not air on Impact until the day after Christmas.

At these same Impact wrestling tapings we saw the return of Madison Rayne which helps bolster the Knockouts division. Hopefully TNA is now working towards keeping storylines in order and talent happy so that they can prosper again in 2014. Otherwise TNA could very likely see itself wiped off the wrestling landscape altogether by 2015.
