In the past week in the world of professional wrestling/sports entertainment we saw TNA conclude there television storylines for 'Bound for Glory' and WWE set-up more of the top matches for 'Hell in a Cell.' Also, FWE had there big fall event in the Openweight Grand Prix that was originally believed to be a one night tournament but will continue with the final eight in the near future.
FWE's Openweight Grand Prix will continue with second round matches all the way to the finals in the near future. Here are the first round results from last Saturday's event: Petey Williams defeated Sonjay Dutt, Tommy Dreamer beat Carlito Colon, Chris Mordetsky (Masters) defeated Wes Draven, Brian Kendrick beat Joey Ryan, Jorge Santi beat Rhett Titus, Tony Nese defeated Paul London, Ted DiBiase Jr. beat Colt Cabana and lastly FWE Champion John Hennigan (Morrison) defeated Matt Morgan.
The 'Bound for Glory' card was finalized in TNA with the only major change being that the main event for the TNA World Championship is now a no disqualification match per order of TNA President Dixie Carter. Her "nephew" Ethan Carter III is also set to make his debut at the pay-per-view event but in what match or role is undetermined at this time. Hopefully TNA can start to turn things around with how they lay out the matches and results for many of there fans are bored with the current developments, or lack thereof, on television.
Monday night on RAW saw CM Punk win in a beat the clock match to name the type of match he wanted to face Ryback in and of course it will be inside the cell, but Paul Heyman will team with his new client during the contest. Of course what got many wrestling fans and the WWE Universe abuzz was the title change that saw the Rhodes brothers (Cody and Goldust) defeat The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns) for the WWE Tag-Team Championship. This will hopefully make WWE see that it needs to have a good mix of faces and heels as champions in order to keep fans interested, and not all heels as it had been before the title switch.
We will see how the ever changing world of sports entertainment/pro wrestling will shape up next week as we continue to bring you all the latest news here at WorldWrestling101. With two pay-per-views left in the month of October, much change could be in the air besides the color of the leaves in this wonderful time of year.
