BFL 57 will crown a new 145-pound amateur champion. On Thursday, Battlefield Fight League officials announced a bout between former 155-pound amateur champion Gwyn Berry and Marlan Hall for the amateur 145-pound belt.
The 145-pound amateur championship was vacated by Josh Kwiatkowski, as he turned pro after his BFL 54 title victory.
Berry (4-1) has been out of action since July 2017. The last time “The Wild” stepped inside the BFL cage, he lost his title to Paul Cowie at BFL 50. That loss was the lone blemish on Berry’s rap sheet. The Sound MMA product has stopped three of his other four opponents in devastating fashion.
Hall (8-3) is coming off back to back impressive performances. The 23-year-old made his return to the cage at BFL 54 after a four-year hiatus and knocked out Paul Kane just one-minute and twenty-three seconds into the first round. At BFL 55, “Pretty Boy” earned a unanimous decision against a very dangerous JR Cuevas to be granted a shot at the belt.
BFL 57 goes down on September 22 from the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
