Former Wizard/current player still on Wizards payroll, Andray Blatche arrived in the Philippines to start his international career as a Philippine citizen.
Many eyebrows were raised, but really it wasn't that much of a surprise, when Blatche agreed to become a big man for the Philippines when they enter the FIBA World Cup this summer.
Blatche had never been to the Philippines before he arrived overnight to meet with coach Chot Reyes and finalize steps to finish his citizenship.
There were even rumors that Blatche was attempting to recruit JaVale McGee onto the team, which just leaves one step closer to possibly having a Wizards reunion on, of all places, the Filipino national team.
Strange times, indeed.
