Washington Redskins Vs. Chicago Bears: Five to Watch

The Washington Redskins are facing the Chicago Bears tonight, in a game that holds more weight that many believe. The coaching staff is going to get to see a lot of key depth players in starting roles tonight and not all starting positions are settled. There's still an ongoing battle at free safety, running back, and the third corner back (which is important in today's NFL). Here's are some players to focus on:

Alfred Morris  — Here's a guy in desperate need of a big performance and he'll get that shot. Morris could even start tonight. As of now, no decision has been made. Either way, he's expected to see time with the first team offense. If the rookie can break a big one or show the ability to consistently pick up 4-5 yards, it will go a long way in forcing the Shanahans to keep a fourth back.

Josh Morgan – Specifically with the first string — When and where do they bring him in? He's supposed to be a reserve with enough flexibility to play any of the three main positions.

Brandon Banks – Will the Redskins throw his way nine times again? I doubt it. But don't expect them shy away either. As the most proven return man, the Skins would be love for him to make the roster, if he could give them a boost on offense as well.

Tanard Jackson — Time to see what he can do. There's a good chance we'll see Jackson work with the first string at some time–maybe starting, maybe not. His athleticism is highly coveted and there has been word of a nickel package that would feature both him and the other free safety, Madieu Williams.

Dezmon Briscoe — While I'm not sure how many snaps he'll receive, I do expect the Skins to give him a chance. At 6'2", that chance could easily come in the red zone, where bigger is often better. He played well in limited time with Tampa and at 22 years of age, he could be worth developing. That said, he won't make the team without a strong preseason performance.
