While it's not the Washington Capitals vs. New Jersey Devils, Caps fans will get to watch their superstar Alex Ovechkin perform two days before the already cancelled season-opener.
Small victories, friends.
Greg Wyshynski of Puck Daddy gets a stick-tap for alerting us of ESPN's announcement to televise Dynamo Moscow (Ovechkin's team) vs. Lev on ESPN2 on Tuesday at 1 P.M. According to the release, ESPN anchor Steve Levy and analyst Barry Melrose will broadcast the game, which will also be re-aired in primetime at 8 P.M.
It appears to be a trial run for the network, which hasn't scheduled any further telecasts yet. Simply put, if we want to watch the NHL stars overseas during the lockout, Caps Nation will have to establish a solid viewership of Ovechkin's contest.
The Washington captain has two goals and four assists in six games thus far.
