The University of Central Florida men's basketball program has added a new member to its extended family, with Adam Williams coming on board with the Knights as Assistant Director of Basketball Operations.
A former player and graduate assistant for UCF head coach Donnie Jones while Jones was still at Marshall University, Williams also brings with him two years experience as assistant coach at West Virginia Tech.
Explained Williams to UCF Athletics Tuesday morning, "I am extremely excited to be at UCF. Having the opportunity to work here with Coach Jones and the assistant coaches who I know and trust is a great felling. Everyone on the staff has a role and I am glad that they trust me to get the job done."
Jones commented in kind about Williams, saying, "Adam is a bright, up-and-coming young man in the coaching profession. We are excited to have him as part of our basketball family. I was fortunate to be able to coach him and I am looking forward to working with Adam at UCF."
Williams, notes UCF Athletics, played at Marshall from 2007-09 and appeared in 51 contests, with 11 starts, this after beginning his career at the University of Kentucky and playing in eight games there between 2005-06.
He replaces J.P. Clark, who after two years with the Knights, has elected to join the Boston Celtics in player development.
