Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to finish the job against Borussia Dortmund and book their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Spurs put one-foot in the next phase of the competition with an impressive 3-0 first leg victory at Wembley last month that saw the north Londoners score three second half goals to blow Dortmund away.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be keen to score an early away goal at the Westfalonstadion on Tuesday night as that would mean the Bundesliga giants would need five goals to progress to the last-8.

Tottenham’s form has been poor since the first leg win as they lost at Burnley and Chelsea before needing a controversial penalty to salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal on Saturday afternoon which saw the Gunners also miss a last gasp spot kick.

However, Dortmund are also coming in to the match in poor form as they suffered a shock defeat away to relegation strugglers Augsburg at the weekend which has seen them knocked off top spot in the Bundesliga table.

They have now conceded at least two goals in five of their last six games so Tottenham will be quietly confident of scoring at least once which would all-but secure their place in the quarter-final draw of the Champions League.

Betting odds

If you plan to bet on the game, it’s always wise to use any free bets you have available or look out for special offers as that can increase your profit margin but there are plenty of tempting bets for this game.

Dortmund are the 19/20 favourites to win on the night with Tottenham and the draw both available at odds of 29/10. However, Spurs are the heavy 1/50 odds-on favourites to qualify for the next stage of the competition given they hold a 3-0 lead from the first leg.

Both teams to score [4/7] and over 2.5 goals [6/10] both look nailed on for this match and if we combine those bets in a double we get odds of 1.84 – so almost double your money.

Dortmund will need to come out and attack from the outset and that will suit Spurs. Our predicted score for the 90 minutes is 2-1 Tottenham which can be backed at 10/1 and if we add Harry Kane as the first scorer we get excellent odds of 49/1.
