Toronto Raptors guard Terrence Ross won last year's NBA Slam Dunk Contest by wowing the crowd with his athleticism and jumping ability. He made his dunks look easy and stayed away from props (besides wearing a throwback Vince Carter jersey). Although it hasn't been officially announced, it is expected that Ross will defend his crown at this year's contest and one has to wonder what else he has in store for the NBA fans around the world.
Ross defeated Utah Jazz forward Jeremy Evans in the Finals last year in a close vote. Eric Bledsoe, Kenneth Faried, Gerald Green and James White were also in the contest, but didn't do enough to make it to the final. It was a high-flying showcase with some memorable dunks. Here is a quick recap of last year's event.
The 2014 NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest will take place on Saturday, February 15 at the New Orleans Arena. Let's hope this year's contest brings originality, excitement and players making dunks on their first attempt.
Rumoured participants for this year's contest include Orlando Magic rookie guard Victor Oladipo and Washington Wizards star John Wall. Whether these guys are in it or not, it is sure to be an entertaining event like always.
