Toronto Raptors Emerge Victorious in 109-108 OT Win Over Dallas Mavericks

For the second straight game the Toronto Raptors went to overtime, but this time they came out with a different result. Despite a rough start to the game, DeMar DeRozan turned it around late in the game and helped lead the Raptors to the victory over the Dallas Mavericks. The Raptors are now 4-2 without Rudy Gay and have won three of their last four. With the win, the Raptors move to 10-14 on the season and are a half game back of the Atlantic Division lead. The Mavericks fall to 15-11 with the loss. 

Points By Quarter


Here are some notes from the game:

  • The Mavericks shot 68.2% in the first quarter, scoring 26 of their 33 points in the paint. They also had 11 assists in the quarter. 
  • The Mavericks started the second quarter on an 8-0 run to go up 19. The Raptors then answered back with a 27-6 run of their own, taking a short lead.
  • The Raptors had six players score in double figures. Kyle Lowry led the way with 20 points, six assists and five rebounds. DeMar DeRozan had 15 points and seven rebounds. He also tied a career-high with nine assists. 
  • Former-Raptor Jose Calderon was the Mavericks leading scorer with 23 points. Calderon was 7-10 from three point land and also added nine assists. Calderon had 11 points in the fourth quarter.
  • Dirk Nowitkzi had 22 points and nine rebounds, Monta Ellis had 21 points and 11 assists, and Shawn Marion had 14 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for the Mavericks.
