The Toronto Raptors announced Saturday that they have waived forward Chris Wright and guard Carlos Morais. Wright played in five preseason games for the Raptors, registering 26 minutes of playing time. He scored 10 points and added six rebounds in that time. Morais played a total of 21 minutes in three games. He scored six points. Morais was trying to become the first Angolan-born player to play in the NBA.
With these moves, the Raptors now sit at 15 players. Here is a look at their full roster:
Kyle Lowry, D.J. Augustin, Dwight Buycks, Julyan Stone, DeMar DeRozan, Terrence Ross
Rudy Gay, Amir Johnson, Landry Fields, Tyler Hansbrough, Steve Novak, Quincy Acy, Austin Daye
Jonas Valanciunas, Aaron Gray
With a starting rotation of Lowry, DeRozan, Gay, Johnson and Valanciunas, the team looks to be headed in the right direction. A lot of this season's success will decided by the productivity of bench players, such as Terrence Ross, Tyler Hansbrough and Landry Fields. Let's hope the Raptors can get off to a hot start and put themselves in a position to make the playoffs.
