The Toronto Raptors mascot has been the most entertaining mascot in the NBA for years. With exciting tricks, funny costumes and skits to get the fans involved, everyone loves the Raptors mascot. Well on Saturday something terrible happened. The Raptors mascot was in Halifax with the team during training camp. He went to a school for a visit and at the school he blew out his achilles. So for the whole 2013-2014 season, the Raptors will be without the Raptors mascot – at least the guy who was inside the costume.
It is unknown whether they will replace him with someone else inside the costume or if they will just go with mini Raptor. If they do choose to replace him, they are definitely hard shoes (or should we say claws?) to fill. With the team moving in an upward direction and the fan base rallying around the team, this is upsetting news for everyone.
Let's hope the Raptors mascot will fully recover and come back stronger than ever.
Get better Raptor! We'll miss your fun and crazy ways.
