The Toronto Raptors (23-33) will vie for their seventh win in eight games on Monday (Feb. 25) night when they play host to the road weary Washington Wizards (17-37).
The last time these two teams met, the Raptors capitalized on John Wall’s turnover woes and inefficient shooting to earn their third straight road victory. At first glance, the win may not seem too impressive considering the Wizards lowly record. However, the loss was just Washington’s second in their last 12 home games, where they have beaten the likes of Oklahoma City, New York, and Denver just to name a few.
With that in mind, one can expect the Raptors to be ready to play tonight, regardless of their opponent. They’ve had two days off to prepare, and forcing John Wall into a repeat performance of last week’s contest will surely improve their chances of grabbing the W. They sit just four games back of the final playoff spot in the east, and Coach Dwayne Casey knows his team can’t afford to drop this type of game if they stand any chance of reaching the postseason. Expect the Raptors to play inspired ball and grab an important victory in front of the hometown faithful.
Prediction: 99-92 Raptors
