Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB LeQuan Lewis’ Knee Injury Could Be Serious

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers already owned the NFL's worst secondary going into their Week 13 matchup against the Denver Broncos.

And while Peyton Manning only threw for 242 yards (and three touchdowns) against Tampa Bay's defensive backs, the unit looks like it is going to be down another man moving forward.

Per Tampa Bay Times' beat writer Stephen Holder's twitter page, cornerback LeQuan Lewis, who left the game late with some type of leg injury, may be out awhile.

"Just got out of the #Bucs locker room. Some updates: CB LeQuan Lewis' knee injury looks serious. No weight on it and using crutches…"

That is not good news for the Bucs, who don't have many cornerbacks left on the roster. With Eric Wright serving a four-game suspension and Aqib Talib now playing in New England, the Bucs' remaining group of consists of undrafted free agents, a seventh-round pick, and a draft bust.

Lewis was one of the undrafted pickups, but he's found himself playing a lot as of late and became the team's top kickoff returner.

Hopefully, Lewis' knee isn't as bad as Holder thinks and he'll be ready to play next week against the Philadelphia Eagles.

If not, the Bucs will have to send Myron Lewis, the draft bust mentioned earlier, out there, which is something they do not want to do.
