Even though they are on their bye week, it was still a disappointing Sunday for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A week after losing in the final seconds to the Washington Redskins, the Bucs watched as their division rival Atlanta Falcons pulled out a tough victory late against the 'Skins earlier today.
Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III left the game in the third quarter after a vicious hit from linebacker Sean Weatherspoon. Griffin was taken to the locker room with concussion-like symptoms and never returned.
Rookie Kirk Cousins came in and threw for 111 yards and one touchdown, but also had two costly interceptions which stopped the Redskins' late rally.
The Falcons win puts them at 5-0 for the first time in franchise history and gives them a commanding lead in the NFC South.
The Bucs are currently 1-3 and have a long road ahead of them in order to catch the Falcons in the standings.
But the way the rest of the division is playing (the Panthers are 1-3, the Saints are 0-4) the Falcons may have the division wrapped up by Thanksgiving.
