The Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to build off the success of their 20-7 win against the Miami Dolphins when they take the field against the Tennessee Titans in their preseason home opener on Friday night.
Here is what Buccaneers101.com is looking forward to seeing when the Bucs and Titans square off at 7:30 PM at Raymond James Stadium:
1. Will Blount continue to hold off Martin?: Both LeGarrette Blount and rookie Doug Martin did some good things in the Bucs' road win against Miami and they have pushed each other hard during training camp. Each man ran well and scored a short yardage touchdown when they got their chance. Now it will be interesting to see if Blount can continue to perform at a high level in order to hold off the talented Martin, whom Tampa Bay selected in the first round.
2. Can the Bucs clean up the penalties?: On the very first play from scrimmage, defensive tackle Roy Miller jumped offsides and cost the Bucs five yards. In all, Tampa Bay had six penalties for 36 yards. Head coach Greg Schiano recently said that he doesn't mind some infractions, but the Bucs' D-line was undisciplined early on against Miami and they have to correct that moving forward.
3.Will Underwood shine again?: The biggest surprise of training camp was the play of wide receiver Tiquan Underwood. He shined in Miami with three catches for 73 yards with a long of 44 yards to set up a touchdown. Underwood's excellent play during camp has many suggesting he will be Tampa Bay's No. 3 wideout once the regular season starts. He may not have that job locked yet, but another stellar game against the Titans should do the trick.
