The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take to the practice fields tomorrow and start their training camp. However, they will be without two young men that played for the team the past two seasons.

On Thursday, the Bucs traded defensive tackle Brian Price to the Chicago Bears for an undisclosed 2013 draft pick, pending Price passes a physical.

Tampa Bay also released wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe. Taking his place on the roster is linebacker Thomas Williams, who signed a two-year deal with the Bucs on Thursday.

Price, a second-round pick out of UCLA in 2010, had a rough start to his professional career in Tampa Bay. He was plagued with numerous injuries, dealt with the death of a sibling, and got into a physical altercation with a teammate a few months ago.

He missed most of his rookie season with a pelvic injury that landed him on injured reserve. Price came back in 2011 and started 14 games after having his hamstring reattached to the bone by screws in surgery, but he was not close to 100 percent.

Then Price lost his sister in an automobile accident and he checked himself into a Tampa area hospital with mental fatigue. After that, Price got into a fist fight with rookie first-round pick Mark Barron during an offseason film session and was sent home by the coaching staff.

Briscoe, who led the Bucs in touchdown receptions last season, missed most of the optional offseason workouts due to various reasons. He apparently didn't do enough to make it up to head coach Greg Schiano, who has shown that he has no problem getting rid of players that don't fit his mold (see Tanard Jackson and Kellen Winslow).

Meanwhile, Williams comes to the Bucs after spending last season with the Panthers. He was a fifth-round pick in 2008 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Last season, Williams started two games for Carolina and recorded 11 tackles.

The Bucs also activated defensive tackle Amobe Okoye and linebacker Adam Hayward from the preseason Physically Unable to Perform list.
