Linebacker Will Witherspoon confirmed via his Twitter account reports that he would rejoin the St. Louis Rams and former Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher for 2013.

"So the Rumors are true I'm going Back to STL!! Is anyone as excited as I am? NOPE!!"

Witherspoon, originally a third round pick of the Carolina Panthers, has done some of his best work wearing a Rams uniform. He previously played with the Rams from 2006 until being sent to Philadelphia in 2009. He was the Rams' MVP in 2007 and recorded 11.5 sacks in 50 starts.

Witherspoon joined Jeff Fisher in Tennessee in 2010 and was a key component in Fisher's defense there. Injuries limited his play to just six starts in 2012.

He looks to bring veteran leadership to a young, but improving Rams defense, especially in the linebacking corps. He'll provide quality depth and experience behind James Laurinaitis, Jo-Lonn Dunbar and rookie Alec Ogletree.
