As promised, San Jose Sharks forward Brent Burns shaved off his mountain man beard and hair for charity. In mid-October, Burns announced he would shed his trademark look to raise money for Defending the Blue Line, a group that helps fund activities and equipment for military kids, and the Katie Moore Foundation, in honor of former Shark Dominic Moore's wife who suddenly passed of a rare liver cancer.
The initial goal for the charities was to raise $5,000, but by Friday, the number was over $23,000.
