It's been a long time coming, but San Jose forward Marty Havlat will suit up for his first game since playoff Game 3 against the Los Angeles Kings tonight. Havlat re-injured a nagging pelvic injury during that game and was forced to undergo surgery over the summer.
The timing couldn't be better as rookie Matt Nieto is out with an undisclosed injury that kept him out of the lineup against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday. Once again Brent Burns did not travel with the team, but is keeping his conditioning up by skating on his own in San Jose.
Defenseman Dan Boyle is also out of the lineup today, not quite ready to return to the lineup, but he's still actively practicing with the team. He just may break the starting lineup on Saturday against Phoenix.
Sharks visit the Kings tonight at 7 p.m. on CSN-CA.
