The struggling San Francisco Giants look to snap their five-game losing streak tonight in Arizona against the Diamondbacks in the opener of a three-game series.
The 43-29 Giants still remain in first place in the National League West, while the 31-45 Diamondbacks sit in last place in the division and 14 games back of the Giants. Both teams enter the series not playing well as the Giants are just 2-8 in their last 10 games, while the Diamondbacks are 3-7 in their last 10. Tonight's matchup will feature Tim Lincecum (5-4) taking on Josh Collmenter (4-4). Lincecum owns a 8-9 career record versus the Diamondbacks with a 3.88 ERA and 184 strikeouts. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 pm.
Saturday night has Ryan Vogelsong (4-3) taking on Brandon McCarthy (1-9). Vogelsong is 2-4 against the Diamondbacks with a 4.66 ERA and 65 strikeouts. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 pm.
Sunday afternoon Madison Bumgarner (8-4) gets the ball opposing Mike Bolsinger (1-2). Bumgarner has a 4-4 lifetime record facing Arizona with a 2.71 ERA and 76 strikeouts. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 pm.
The Giants will see three righties this weekend and are 28-18 against right-handers this year. The team is 4-3 versus the Diamondbacks this season, 11-8 against the NL West on the road and 18-17 overall facing their division rivals.
Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has major ownage on Lincecum, going 13-for-24 with seven home runs and 17 RBI's.
