The San Francisco Giants struggles continued once again in Cincinnati on Tuesday against the Reds as they lost 8-3 in the series opener. The Giants are 1-11 in their last 12 regular season games in Cincy and have been outscored 73-30. Tim Lincecum has never beaten the Reds in his career and they are the only team in the National League he has yet to defeat.

Pablo Sandoval's 12-game hitting streak was snapped and he is still batting .351 in his last 10-games. Madison Bumgarner was selected the NL Pitcher of the Month for May and becomes the first Giants pitcher to capture this honor since Lincecum did so back in June 2009.

The 2014 MLB All-Star Game is a month away and Giants fans will have the chance to vote for their players to start the midsummer classic on Tuesday, July 15th in Minnesota at Target Field. Sandoval is fourth in all-star balloting at third base, Buster Posey ranks second at catcher, Brandon Crawford is second at shortstop, Brandon Belt is fifth at first base, while Angel Pagan, Michael Morse and Hunter Pence occupy the eighth through 10th spot in the outfield.

The 2014 AL and NL All-Star teams will be announced on the MLB All-Star Game Selection Show during the weekend of July5th-6th.

June 4th is a special day in Giants history as Randy Johnson in 2009 became the twenty-fourth pitcher and seventh left-hander to achieve 300 wins in a Giants 5-1 win over the Washington Nationals. Johnson was the first pitcher in the majors since Tom Seaver in 1985 to join the 300 win club and was the fifth pitcher in the last 50 years to record his 299th and 300th win in consecutive starts, joining Warren Spahn, Steve Carlton, Gaylord Perry and Seaver.
