San Francisco Giants-Atlanta Braves Series Preview

The San Francisco Giants return home tonight to begin a seven-game homestand and welcome the Atlanta Braves to AT&T Park for a three-game series.

The 24-14 Giants and 21-15 Braves both sit in first place in their respective divisions heading into the series. The Giants swept the Braves last weekend in Atlanta and are 7-2 in their last nine game against them with a 1.59 ERA. 

Tonight's matchup is between Tim Lincecum (2-2) and Gavin Floyd (0-0). Lincecum is 8-6 lifetime versus the Braves with a 2.89 ERA and 92 strikeouts. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 pm.

Tuesday night features Ryan Vogelsong (1-1) taking on Mike Minor (0-2). Vogelsong has a 2-1 career record against Atlanta with a 3.81 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 26 innings. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 pm.

Wednesday afternoon will see Madison Bumgarner (4-3) facing Julio Teheran (2-2). Bumgarner owns a 3-3 record versus the Braves with a 2.51 ERA and 50 strikeouts. First pitch is scheduled for 12:45 pm.

Keep your eye on Vogelsong because he has pitched great in his last three starts, going 1-0 with a 0.89 ERA and 14 strikeouts. He has gone at least six innings his last three outings and the Giants have gone 3-0 in his games.

The Giants enter tonight's game with a 10-5 home record and went 15-17 last season versus the NL East. The Giants have not committed an error the past five games and they are 12-8 when they don't compared to a 12-6 record when they do commit an error.
