Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reports that the San Francisco Giants were one of six teams on hand to watch Cuban shortstop Aledmys Diaz in Arizona on Thursday.

The 23-year-old batted .315 with 12 home runs and stole 11 bases in 313 at-bats during his last season in Cuba from 2011-2012. The New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres were the other teams in attendance.

Diaz will be eligible to sign next week with a team and he was supposed to sign with a club last offseason, but was suspended for a year after lying about his age so he could get around MLB's international spending cap and seek a larger contract.
