According to the Las Vegas website Bovada.lv, the San Francisco Giants are tied for eighth best odds at winning the World Series, 16/1.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorites to win the World Series with 13/2 odds.

Former Giants owner Bob Lurie was elected to the Bay Area Hall of Fame Monday and the 2014 class will be enshrined on Wednesday May 7 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.

Lurie saved the Giants in 1976 after the team was nearly sold to a group that wanted to move the franchise to Tampa Bay. He owned the Giants from 1979-1993 and eventually sold the club to Bay Area investors led by Peter Magowan in 1993.

Joining Lurie will be former San Jose Shark Owen Nolan, former De La Salle High School football coach Bob Ladouceur, Olympics record-holder Jim Hines from McClymonds High School and former Oakland A's manager Tony La Russa.
