Orange and Black Friday Inside Scoop

The San Francisco Giants announced this week they have promoted Shane Turner to director of player development.

Turner replaces Fred Stanley, who is now in the role of special assistant-player personnel. This will be Turner's 19th season with the Giants and he spent the last six years serving as the coordinator of instruction. The Giants also announced former catcher Steve Decker has been promoted to coordinator of minor league instruction and hitting. Decker played four seasons with the Giants from 1990-1992 and 1996. 

Giants fans will get five opportunities this Spring Training to watch the orange and black on TV. Comcast SportsNet announced Thursday they will televise three exhibition games and NBC Bay Area will broadcast two.

The Giants will play on CSN on Saturday March 8 versus the Seattle Mariners, Friday March 21 against the Oakland A's and Saturday March 29 versus the A's.

The team will play on NBC Bay Area on Saturday March 15 against the A's and Thursday March 27 versus the A's.
