San Francisco Giants 2013 MLB Draft

The San Francisco Giants selected two high school players with their first two picks in the 2013 MLB Draft in shortstop Christian Arroyo and third baseman Ryder Jones.

The Giants selected Arroyo with the No. 25 pick out of Hernando High School in Brooksville, Florida. The 18-year-old batted .524 with 11 home runs in 105 at-bats during his senior year. He was ranked No. 102 by Baseball America and ranked No. 99 by ESPN"s Keith Law. Arroyo can sign with the Giants or improve his draft stock by going to college, where he has committed to Florida.

Jones was taken with the No. 64 pick out of Watauga High School in North Carolina and excelled as a two-way player. The 19-year-old bats lefty and throws righty, batting .461 with 11 homers and showcasing a 1.25 ERA with 63 strikeouts in 40 innings during his senior year. Jones has committed to Stanford or could sign with the Giants.

The Giants had not selected two high school players with their top two draft picks since 1974.
