San Francisco Giants Make Roster Move

Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News is reporting the San Francisco Giants optioned first baseman Brett Pill back to Triple-A Fresno following last night's game against the Colorado Rockies and recalled right-handed pitcher Jean Machi.

Pill batted. 333 in three games, smacking two hits, two doubles, one RBI and scored two runs in six at-bats. He recorded a .286 on-base percentage and .667 slugging percentage equaling a .952 OPS.

Machi was 2-0 at Triple-A displaying an impressive 0.00 ERA in seven games. The righty allowed seven hits, two walks, 10 strikeouts and one save in nine innings. Opponents batted .226 off him.
