The San Francisco Giants clinched their eighth division crown Saturday night defeating the San Diego Padres 8-4 to capture the National League West.
It's their second division title in three years punching their 10th trip to the playoffs. Marco Scutaro led the team collecting three hits on the night extending his hitting streak to 12-games, which ties a career-high he set in 2004 with the Oakland A's. The Giants smacked 11 hits on the night. Madison Bumgarner took the win going 5.2 innings allowing five hits, two earned runs, one walk and striking out six. His record stands at 16-10. The 89-63 Giants go for the sweep looking to win their seventh straight game Sunday afternoon. Tim Lincecum (10-14) battles Eric Stults (6-3) in the series finale.
