Pittsburgh Steelers Look to Bounce Back Against the Miami Dolphins

The 5-7 Pittsburgh Steelers fell with a thud in a 22-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving night. This week, they will look to bounce back and stop the bleeding. More importantly, they will make it through with no more injuries after losing their starting center for the season in the loss. This week, they return home to face the 6-6 Miami Dolphins at Heinz Field.

The Steelers will need to see continued improvements on both sides of the ball and improved special teams, if they want to beat the Dolphins on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, they will have to do this with a battered offensive line and a defense that is still having troubles stopping the big play

Key Match-Up: The Steelers defense against the Dolphins receiving corps, specifically former Steelers wide out Mike Wallace. Wallace is a game changer and has the speed to take the top off the defense. The Steelers have given up the big play in 2013, as well as given up some huge games to wide receivers. Wallace would like nothing more than to be the dagger that ends the Steelers season and the defense cannot let that happen.

Projected Inactive List: Defensive end Brett Keisel (foot) has have already been declared out for this match-up due to injury. He will likely be joined by offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum (knee) and Steve McLendon (ankle), who both saw limited reps during the week recovering from their injuries.  These three should be joined by quarterback Landry Jones, linebacker Kion Wilson, wide receiver Derek Moye and recently acquired offensive guard David Snow.

Prediction:  To this point, the 2013 season has been unkind to the Steelers (5-7) and their fans. Now they are again facing a must-win situation against the Dolphins. This will be an interesting contest, but it is a game that the Steelers can win. This one could go either way, but in the end, the Steelers’ offense sputters behind the patchwork offensive line and cannot score enough to win. The Dolphins prevail 20-13.
