Two days after bolstering the battered offensive line by signing veterans Rashad Butler and Eric Olsen to help, one player has already departed.  The team announced on Monday that veteran tackle Rashad Butler has left the team due to personal reasons.

With Butler on the Street, the Steelers will likely make another move to help solidify the position. At this point, they do have inexperienced tackle Joe Long on the practice squad who could fill the void. Although, the fact that they signed Butler over promoting Long over the weekend may point for a trip outside the organization for a replacement.

The need for offensive lineman depth arose after the Steelers saw four linemen go down to injury against the Baltimore Ravens, including losing center Fernando Velasco for the season with a torn Achilles. With tackles Kelvin Beachum and Mike Adams hobbled, the team is lacking depth at tackle, with only Guy Whimper and Marcus Gilbert at tackle. More injury information should be available Tuesday on the severity of the injuries suffered by Adams and Beachum.

With Velasco out, seldom used Cody Wallace is in line to start at center against the Miami Dolphins. The young offensive lineman has seen a few snaps since being claimed off waivers prior to the start of the season

One of the other injury questions for the week surrounds running back Le’Veon Bell, who suffered a concussion on a violent play at the goal line late in the contest, may be available. The rookie ball carrier still must pass a battery of tests to be available, but was available to do some light running on Monday.   Having the 6 -1, 244-pound back available could be a boost for the offense. To this point, he is leading the Steelers with 528 yards rushing and five touchdowns.
