Tuesdays are always fun in the Steel City, as Pittsburgh Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin addresses the media during his weekly session. This week, the air was different coming off the victory against the Buffalo Bills, but the message was the same, the Steelers must gain some consistency.

While there were no real revelations during the media availability, Tomlin did update some of the injury statuses for the week. The game against the Bills was a physical endeavor and it took its toll throughout the contest as the Steelers lost multiple starters during the course of the action. At this point, it appears that the majority of the injuries were minor and only one player has been deemed out.

That player is rookie safety Shamarko Thomas, who is battling a high-ankle sprain suffered in the first half. Thomas has been building a solid reputation and logging a lot of snaps in the nickel and dime situations for the Steelers and appears to be adapting well to the NFL and the complex Steelers defense. Safety Will Allen will likely see increased reps with Thomas on the sideline.

Thomas is not the only player battling an ankle injury. Starting offensive guard Ramon Foster also injured an ankle against the Bills, but is expected to play against the Detroit Lions, although the team expects him to be limited in practice early in the week. If Foster cannot go, he will likely be replaced by veteran Guy Whimper at left guard.

The other players battling injury this week are Brett Keisel, LaMarr Woodley, Fernando Velasco, David DeCastro, Mike Adams, Kelvin Beachum, and Marcus Gilbert. At this point, all of those players will are expected to be available against the Lions.
