Ike Taylor is the Pittsburgh Steelers top cornerback and one of the most underrated in the league. While this physical shutdown corner gets overlooked by the masses because of his lack of interceptions, there is no mistaking his importance to the Steelers defense.

Taylor also is well aware of his position as a role model to those that look up to him. This weekend, the New Orleans-area native, returned to his roots to host the 10th annual Face Me Ike Football Camp at the Arden Cahill Academy in Gretna.

Taylor was joined by teammates and other NFL players at the camp geared at giving 6-to-14 year olds a chance to get a first-hand look at NFL stars. Players scheduled to assist Taylor are former Steelers cornerback Keenan Lewis, as well as current secondary mates, William Gay and Ryan Clark. Like Taylor, both Clark and Lewis have played their prep days in Louisiana.

More than 200 youths were expected to attend this camp, which was focused on both fundamentals and skill to be successful on and off the field.
