The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to stand up and deliver a victory against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, keeping them alive for a playoff spot as they await the return of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. That return could happen this week against the San Diego Chargers.

However, during the physical Ravens game, the team added a couple injuries that could affect them moving forward. The biggest may be the ankle injury suffered by cornerback Ike Taylor. Taylor was scheduled for an MRI, and more information will be available Tuesday at head coach Mike Tomlin’s weekly press conference, but all signs point to Taylor missing at least a few weeks.

Against the Ravens, the defense put on another solid display, with cornerbacks Cortez Allen and Curtis Brown playing solid, and Keenan Lewis continuing to take the step to the next level. If Taylor is out, these three and possibly DeMarcus Van Dyke may have to play an even larger role in the game plan.

The other injury of concern is fullback Will Johnson, who may have suffered a concussion. While the running game was not dominant against the Ravens, it did gobble up some tough yards and kept the chains moving. Jonathan Dwyer has 16 carries for 49 yards and one touchdown paced the rushing attack, with Isaac Redman chipping in 43-yards on nine carries. Johnson is a key component as a pile-driving lead blocker and a reliable outlet receiver, and has found a niche for himself inside the offense.
