This was a very Happy Thanksgiving for injured Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, as his wife Ashley, gave birth to the couples first son, Benjamin Roethlisberger Jr. at 10:06 p.m. Wednesday night.
For Roethlisberger, who was adamant that he would be at the birth even if it were on a game day, he was able to attend the birth and announced the delivery with a message on his website Thanksgiving morning stating: "Ashley and I welcomed a healthy, beautiful baby boy into this world. Benjamin Jr. is 7 lbs., 1 oz. and is 19 1/2 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing well.”The message continued, "We want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. It really means a lot to us. God is so good!” “We will have pictures to post this weekend. We hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving" — Ben, Ashley and Benjamin.
