For Pittsburgh Steelers fans, today was not a banner day for highlights, as the team got a huge scare in already depleted backfield. Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that today Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman will undergo an MRI on his injured groin, an injury originally suffered two weeks ago during the annual night practice in Latrobe.
Yes, Redman returned to action and still played in Thursday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but has been limited in practice until testing it today. With his injury, the Steelers finished practice again with only Baron Batch and Chris Rainey in the backfield. Also on the injury front, linebacker James Harrison, who has been on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list throughout camp, underwent minor knee surgery today on the ailment that has kept him out of camp. While Harrison and the Steelers are optimistic he will return by the season opener, no one can be sure. At this point, fans need to hold their breath as the injury bug keeps mounting on both sides of the ball.
