The Pittsburgh Penguins are guaranteed to be cold March 1st, 2014 when they play the Chicago Blackhawks in the final of the Coors Light Stadium Series at Soldier Field, but they'll be looking darn good. At least better than the Anaheim Ducks will in their outdoor game. The Pens jerseys where released Friday and modeled by forward Chris Kunitz.

Dear reader, if this seems like a fluff piece to you . . . you are right. With the heaviness of this whole Shawn Thornton suspension deal, well sometimes a salad is better than a steak.

Kunitz commented, "I like the logo with the silver accent and metallic look. It has a different kind of fit with the striping. The socks and pants all tie into one. It's a good look. It keeps the original in tact, but changed enough to play in an outdoor game."

Indeed, the jerseys are a blend tradition and bleeding-edge style. The double line sleeves are a classic of teams of yesteryear and the fact they do not connect just looks darn cool. The metallic logo is simply awesome and pulls your eyers to it, really tying the whole look together. Reebok has been busy designing new sweaters for all the teams involved in the Stadium Series and the Pens are currently looking like the winners. The New York Rangers, Blackhawks, and New Jersey Devils have yet to release theirs. Fans can preorder the design at the PensGear Team Store inside the CONSOL Energy Center. They'll be ready by January.

Tickets to the actual game however are gone. They went on sale Wednesday the 11st and sold out in less than a day. There are some suites still available but mortgage rates are pretty high. Watch StubHub and the Pens Ticket Exchange if you're wanting to go.
