Morin, a six-foot-six defenseman weighing in at 202 pounds, was drafted 11th overall in this years draft. He has been hard at work with the team as he has participated in summer camp and rookie camp. After having impressive summer and rookie camps, Morin made his way to training camp with the main team.
Morin played his first exhibition game as a Flyer against the Washington Capitals on Monday. He ended the game with two assists in the Flyers 4-3 loss to the Capitals after going to a shootout. His performance in the game impressed Flyers assistant coach Craig Berube and new-Flyer Vinny Lecavalier.
While he may have impressed them, it's going to be hard for Morin to make the Flyers roster. Currently there are nine defensemen on the Flyers roster that are signed to one-way contracts. However, there is a chance that number could come down by the time the Flyers finalize their roster.
As of right now, Morin is a long-shot to make the team but if he continues to impress, the Flyers have a few huge decisions to make. One of those is whether or not to put Morin on the final roster and the other is deciding what players go in order to make room for Morin.
