Injuries have been a major problem for the Philadelphia Eagles this season as it has affected them on both sides of the ball. Here is the latest injury update as the Eagles prepare to take on the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
No surprise here. Vick is out of Sunday's game against the Raiders as he begins his path to recovery after re-injuring his hamstring last week against the New York Giants. Vick originally pulled his hamstring in the Eagles' first matchup against the Giants just three weeks before they met again. It seems like Vick was rushed to return for the Giants last week as he looked uncomfortable. The fact that it took him three weeks to get to the point where he could play is a sign that it is going to take him just as long to recover from re-injuring the hamstring. It would not come as a surprise if Vick misses more than three weeks so the Eagles can make sure he is 100 percent ready to come back.
Jackson tweaked his ankle earlier this week in practice. He was limited at Wednesday and Thursday's practices and is currently listed as "probable" for Sunday's game, but all signs point to him playing. Jackson's 45 receptions for five touchdowns and 673 yards is the best on the team.
THE "QUESTIONABLE" ONES
Safety Patrick Chung, linebacker Casey Matthews and wide receiver Damaris Johnson are all listed as "questionable" against the Raiders. Chung has been dealing with a shoulder injury over the past few weeks and has forced him to miss the past two games against the Dallas Cowboys and Giants. Matthews is recovering from a hip injury while Johnson is recovering from an ankle injury.
