Nick Foles performed so well for the Philadelphia Eagles against the New York Giants that he was put on the watch-list for the FedEx Air Player of the Week leading up to the Eagles' game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Foles came into the game late in the second quarter against the Giants and finished out the game when Michael Vick could not come back after sustaining a hamstring injury. In just a little over a half of a game, Foles threw for two touchdowns and 197 yards after completing 16 of his 25 pass attempt without an interception. Vick's hamstring injury prevented him from playing last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and that gave Foles his first start of the season.

Foles was put on the watch-list for the FedEx Air Player of the Week last week and he ended up winning the honor after his performance against the Buccaneers. Foles threw for three touchdowns and 296 yards when he completed 22 of his 31 pass attempts. He also added a rushing touchdown to his total in the first quarter.

The Eagles and Philadelphia fans have known for a few days now that Michael Vick will not be playing this week against the Dallas Cowboys. Foles will get his second start of the season and is looking to impress Chip Kelly enough to earn the starting job for the rest of the season. If Foles keeps performing at the level he is now, then he may earn that starting job and more FedEx Air Player of the Week honors.

An Eagles quarterback hasn't won the FedEx Player of the Week honor since 2010 where Vick won it twice and Kevin Kolb won it once. Donovan McNabb has also won the award seven times between the 2004, 2005 , 2006 and 2008 seasons. Jeff Garcia also won the honor once in 2006 after McNabb got hurt.

Foles isn't the first Eagle to win a FedEx Player of the Week honor this season as LeSean McCoy won the FedEx Ground honor after his week one performance against the Washington Redskins.
