Everyone knew it was coming, but it was just a matter of when it would be announced. After Thursday's practice, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick announced that he would not be playing on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys and Nick Foles will start his second game of the season.

Vick has been limited in practice since the teams first practice after the New York Giants game. he left the game in the second quarter with a pulled hamstring and Foles came in to replace him. Foles led the team to a win over the Giants.

Foles started this past week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Matt Barkley as his backup. Vick was listed as the emergency quarterback and if it came down to him having to play, things probably wouldn't have ended well. Foles finished the game with a 31-20 win over the Buccaneers after throwing 22/31 for 296 yards and three touchdowns. He also had one rushing touchdown.

Foles now heads into the game against Dallas on Sunday with two wins under his belt and a lot of momentum. Between the Giants and Buccaneers games, Foles is a combined 38/56 for 493 yards and six touchdowns (five passing, one rushing). In the five games… more like four-and-a-half games… that Vick played in, he was 71/132 for 1,185 yards and seven touchdowns (five passing, two rushing). Foles has a 67.8 completion percentage through two games while Vick has a 53.8 completion percentage.

After two games… actually it's one-and-a-half games… Foles is on pace to overtake Vick's stats by halftime of their game against the Oakland Raiders, that's if he continues to start until then. Halftime would mark four complete games for Foles.

Head coach Chip Kelly is going to have a tough decision to make if Vick is cleared after the Cowboys game and if Foles leads the team to another win with another great performance. Kelly has said the Vick is that starting quarterback, but he shouldn't stop starting Foles if he keeps playing like he is.
