The Philadelphia 76ers lost yesterday to the Brooklyn Nets 127-97 at the Wells Fargo Center in the their fourth preseason game. They now fall to 2-2 in the preseason thus far.
76ers guard Evan Turner had 23 points in the game. Small forward Thaddeus Young and point guard Michael Carter-Williams both scored 12 points.
For the Nets, all-star guard Joe Johnson had 18 points, center Brook Lopez scored 17 and guard Shaun Livingston had 17 points and nine rebounds.
The Nets rested newly signed players Paul Pierce and Andrei Kirilenko. Starting point guard Deron Williams sat out for this game.
In the game, the 76ers allowed the Nets to shoot 59 percent in the first half, blowing the game out with a 65-49 lead at halftime.
The score would continue to increase in the second half as the 76ers shot a dismissible 39 percent from the field and turned the ball over 18 times during the entire game.
After the game, 76ers head coach Brett Brown said, “I thought that there was an emotional letdown that you see in young teams and I think the veterans continued to battle. But I felt like some heads dropped and it’s something that we’re going to have to deal with throughout the course of the year.”
The next preseason game the 76ers will play will be Thursday October 17th when they face the Charlotte Bobcats.
