3/27/12 – In tonight's game the Sixers faced the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers. It marked the second meeting of the season between the two teams. In the first game the Sixers easily defeated a Cavs team without their star rookie point guard Kyrie Irving, but tonight he would be in the lineup and Philly would be without Andre Iguodala for the second game in a row. In tonight's matchup the Sixers started tonight's game fast and didn't look back. They sprinted out on a 10-0 run early in the first quarter to establish an early lead. Jodie Meeks was hot tonight and stayed that way the whole game, scoring 31 and setting a career high in points. Philly carried the lead through the first and into halftime up 57-43. They were playing tough defense, forcing Cleveland to shoot 38% and commit 10 turnovers. In the second half they continued to turn Cavs turnovers into points and build the lead. Cleveland couldn't keep up and the Sixers coasted to an easy victory. Final 103-85.

Good win for the 76ers over a team that they should be beating. After tonight's win they hold a 1/2 game advantage over the Boston Celtics in the Atlantic Division. It is important for them to keep taking care of business against the league's lesser opponents in order to lock up the division. This would not only mean a great accomplishment for the Sixers but it also would mean the difference in their playoff position. The difference in a possible first round victory or early exit against the Heat or another Eastern Conference powerhouse. Next game Friday 7 p.m. @ Washington Wizards. More to come…
